JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Product Marketing Director, the Product Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and driving the continued growth of ATLUS products. With a strong passion for video games and deep understanding of players, the Product Marketing Manager will ensure campaigns resonate with relevant player communities, creating innovative and thoughtful marketing activations tailored to inspire engagement throughout the product lifecycle.

Working closely with studio partners, cross-functional teams and other business stakeholders, you will lead and shape the Product Marketing vision, strategy and go-to-market tactical plan, and business plan for your titles across the Western Market. As an accomplished marketer, enthusiastic collaborator, and results-driven professional, you will leverage both global and regional insights to execute impactful campaigns and develop strong planning processes. You will also play a pivotal role as part of the marketing team that will continue to drive innovation and constantly advance Sega’s Western marketing capability and performance.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be the driving force behind strategic integrated product marketing   campaigns, supporting efforts for the product’s entire lifecycle and ensuring alignment across digital and physical retail activations, while driving innovative ways to engage our target audiences.
  • Liaise with SEGA of America, SEGA of Japan, and SEGA of Europe cross-functional and international teams to develop globally integrated go-to-market campaigns that are aligned with the project’s strategic and financial goals. 
  • Act as a highly collaborative custodian of integrated and innovate marketing campaigns across multiple partners including communications, social & community, sales, creative services, events, paid media, brand, licensing, legal, 1st parties, external agencies, EMEA teams and developers.
  • Critical thinking skills and strong business acumen, with ability to quickly learn and apply learnings to daily decisions and executions.
  • Maintain content marketing roadmap calendar, clearly outlining promotional efforts and keeping Product Marketing Director and cross functional teams organized.
  • Track and manage all aspects of marketing budget across your portfolio with rigor and accuracy. Ensure budget reconciliation and oversee fiscal year spend tracking to maintain alignment with broader financial goals.
  • Partner with Communications and Community Managers to ensure PR and social media plan messaging is aligned to product strategies and timelines.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze consumer research, performance marketing, and other business data to intelligently develop KPI goals, business strategies, and optimize marketing investments.
  • Serves as an important marketing contact with Consumer Insights team to identify research needs, opportunities and application of insights to wider teams.
  • Develop, implement, and support product positioning, audience definition/sizing and the over-arching marketing strategies.
  • Serve as a key marketing contact to development and production teams; providing teams with key target audience and marketing insights to champion the voice of the player during the development process.
  • Plan, support, and collaborate the timely planning and execution of go-to-market plans across all marketing channels – including paid media, paid influencers, community, creative, and events, as well as promotional partners, in the development and execution of regional marketing activations.
  • Manage development, production, creation, and delivery of marketing, advertising, and promotional assets by working with internal partners and external vendors as required. Includes but not limited to trailers, packaging, special edition content, logos, screenshots, social media, B-roll assets, etc.
  • Continuously monitor the evolving social media and influencer landscape demonstrating a general understanding of traditional media trends and leveraging insights to execute memorable creative campaigns. Staying on top of trends, influencers, platforms, technologies, methodologies, and shifts in consumer behavior.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Working in-office is an essential function of this position.  This requirement of face-to-face interaction is in place to ensure effective supervision, collaboration, and teamwork.  In-office attendance is required for the following reasons:
    • For effective supervision of employees and our work product, which includes ensuring all employees have necessary oversight of their work and access to supervisory assistance, which includes meetings to review work product, deadlines, and status.

    • To enhance understanding of our stakeholders’ work and business needs, facilitate a more seamless and organic workflow, and ultimately increase efficiency and successful outcomes.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 3-4+ years’ experience in a publisher marketing role within gaming and or adjacent consumer products field.
  • Must be an avid gamer, including time spent in relevant genres and recent releases. Strong interest ATLUS video games, gaming culture and community, specifically RPGs a must. Interest and experience in Anime industry or brands a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in the field.
  • Ability to leverage quantitative analytic measures, build business cases to support initiatives and focus on KPI / ROI metrics.
  • Excellence in project management, analysis, and the ability to work with multiple teams.
  • Experience creating and owning a marketing plan from the research and positioning stage through go-to-market and live services.
  • Experience with creative advertising production and marketing campaigns, demonstrating knowledge of high-impact, unforgettable activations tailored to audience needs.
  • Must excel in managing multiple projects & priorities, with high attention to detail, strong organizational and multitasking skills suited to a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to track and maintain marketing budgets with oversight from leadership, ensuring reconciliation and alignment with fiscal planning goals. Ability to analyze, project sales and forecasts for upcoming products.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate a vision across various audiences. Ability to tell a story via PowerPoint and/or Excel a strong plus.
  • Independent worker with little or no supervision required and willingness to navigate areas of unfamiliarity.
  • Ability to analyze a variety of data, identifying marketing trends, and apply data to produce fact-driven recommendations. Strong analytical skills a must to measure campaign effectiveness/ROI and adjust as needed.
  • Understanding of high impact, cutting edge marketing campaigns and initiatives, with ability to explain effectiveness via KPIs.
  • Ability to coordinate execution of plans within budget, set timelines, and to meet deadlines across all duties of the role. Experience building new processes and applying best practices a strong plus.
  • Ability to develop, pitch, and execute a marketing plan, delegating tasks and working with cross functional teams to ensure the vision is executed effectively to meet and exceed goals.
  • Ability to manage a small team, delegate tasks, and set clear goals to improve workplace and department efficiency.
  • Japanese language skills and experience working with Japanese/Asian corporations (not required, but a plus). Open to flexible hours while working with overseas teams (primarily, Japan time zones).
  • Positive, professional, collaborative, and flexible attitude.
