Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Product Marketing Manager to join our team as the founding marketing hire with significant leadership growth potential. This role will be instrumental in owning and driving all marketing activities including go-to-market strategies, competitive positioning, content creation, demand generation, and market adoption for our Snowflake-native data transformation platform. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of product marketing experience with a proven ability to execute end-to-end marketing programs independently, preferably with a startup background in the data analytics, cloud computing, or enterprise software space. This is an Individual Contributor role with exceptional opportunity to build and eventually lead a marketing organization from the ground up.


Key Responsibilities

Go-to-Market Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new product launches and feature releases
  • Create compelling positioning and messaging that differentiates Datameer in the competitive data transformation landscape
  • Collaborate with product development to translate complex technical capabilities into clear business value propositions
  • Define and execute pricing strategies that align with market dynamics and customer value perception

Competitive Intelligence & Market Analysis

  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis against players like Alteryx, Matillion, and other data transformation platforms
  • Monitor market trends in the Snowflake ecosystem, low-code/no-code analytics, and cloud data warehouse space
  • Provide actionable insights to product and sales teams based on competitive intelligence
  • Maintain competitive battle cards and sales enablement materials

Content Marketing & Thought Leadership

  • Create high-impact marketing content including whitepapers, case studies, solution briefs, and blog posts
  • Develop compelling customer stories and use cases across key verticals (retail, finance, healthcare, telecommunications)
  • Plan and execute webinars, conference presentations, and thought leadership initiatives
  • Ensure all content aligns with SEO best practices and drives qualified lead generation

Sales Enablement & Customer Success

  • Create and maintain comprehensive sales enablement materials including pitch decks, demo scripts, and objection handling guides
  • Conduct regular sales training sessions on product positioning, competitive differentiation, and customer use cases
  • Support key sales opportunities with custom presentations and proof-of-concept materials
  • Collaborate with customer success team to identify expansion opportunities and develop upsell strategies

Digital Marketing & Demand Generation

  • Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels (email, social media, paid advertising, SEO/SEM)
  • Manage marketing automation workflows and lead nurturing campaigns
  • Optimize conversion funnels and track performance metrics across the entire customer journey
  • Coordinate trade show participation, conference speaking opportunities, and event marketing
  • Develop and maintain the company's social media presence and thought leadership positioning

Marketing Analytics & Optimization

  • Define and track key marketing metrics including message performance, content engagement, lead generation, and conversion rates
  • Conduct customer interviews and surveys to validate messaging and identify new market opportunities
  • Analyze product adoption patterns and customer feedback to inform product roadmap decisions
  • Create and maintain customer personas and journey maps for different market segments
  • Manage marketing budget and ROI optimization across all channels



Required Qualifications

Experience & Background

  • 5-10 years of product marketing experience in B2B enterprise software, with proven ability to execute full-funnel marketing programs independently
  • Startup experience strongly preferred - demonstrated success building marketing functions from scratch in high-growth, resource-constrained environments
  • Demonstrated success managing end-to-end marketing functions including demand generation, content marketing, and digital campaigns
  • Experience in data analytics, cloud computing, or business intelligence preferred
  • Proven track record of successful product launches and go-to-market execution as a sole marketer or small team lead
  • Strong understanding of the modern data stack, cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift), and data transformation tools

Technical Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to distill complex technical concepts into compelling business narratives
  • Required: Hands-on proficiency in HubSpot (CRM, marketing automation, and sales enablement features)
  • Required: Experience with WordPress for website management, content updates, and basic customization
  • Experience with digital advertising platforms (Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, etc.) and social media management tools
  • Proficiency with analytics tools (Google Analytics, HubSpot Analytics, etc.) and conversion rate optimization
  • Experience managing freelance resources and platforms like Upwork for specialized marketing support (web development, design, content creation)
  • Proficiency with content management, design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), and presentation software
  • Basic understanding of SQL, data modeling, and analytics workflows is highly preferred
  • Experience with SEO/SEM optimization and marketing automation workflows

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Snowflake ecosystem and partnerships
  • Background in data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics consulting
  • Previous experience as the founding marketing hire or early marketing team member at a startup
  • Track record of scaling marketing functions and building high-performing marketing teams
  • MBA or advanced degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
  • Experience with partner marketing and ecosystem development
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements in regulated industries (finance, healthcare)
  • Proven success managing and optimizing freelance/contractor relationships across various marketing disciplines

Reporting Structure

This role reports directly to executive leadership and works closely with Product Development, Sales, Customer Success, and the broader leadership team.
