Position Overview
The Director of Product Marketing will play a key leadership role in shaping and executing the product strategy for our performance parts division. This individual will serve as the connective tissue between product development, marketing, and commercial teams—owning the go-to-market process, defining customer-centric positioning, and ensuring that product investments align with both customer needs and business objectives.
Reporting directly to the Division Leader and working in close partnership with the SVP of Marketing, this role will lead product marketing strategy across the full lifecycle—from roadmap planning to market launch to portfolio optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Leadership
- Collaborate with the Division Leader and Product Management to shape the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with market opportunities and business goals.
- Lead product portfolio planning by evaluating market trends, customer feedback, sales performance, and competitive positioning.
- Serve as the voice of the customer and market internally, advocating for product enhancements and innovation.
Go-to-Market Ownership
- Develop and lead comprehensive GTM strategies for new product introductions and major updates.
- Coordinate launch activities across cross-functional teams including Sales, Engineering, Brand Marketing, and eCommerce.
- Define and execute lifecycle marketing plans to drive product adoption and long-term engagement.
Positioning, Messaging & Enablement
- Craft compelling product positioning, value propositions, and messaging frameworks for target customer segments (e.g., DIY performance enthusiasts, pro builders, tuners).
- Oversee development of product-related content including sales enablement tools, digital assets, videos, installation guides, and email campaigns.
- Train internal teams and partners to effectively communicate product value.
Market Intelligence & Performance Analysis
- Analyze competitive landscape, customer insights, and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
- Define and track KPIs related to product performance, campaign ROI, and customer acquisition.
- Leverage insights to optimize product positioning, pricing, and promotional strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of product marketing experience, ideally in the automotive aftermarket, performance products, or technical consumer goods.
- Demonstrated success in leading product strategy and launching high-impact marketing initiatives.
- Strong understanding of automotive performance market, enthusiast trends, and buyer personas.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute with excellence and speed.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of cross-functional collaboration.
- Data-driven mindset with fluency in analytics tools and performance tracking.
- Experience with platforms like HubSpot, Shopify, Google Analytics, and PIM/ERP systems a plus.
