The Sr. Market Intelligence Manager is a part of the Pharma Services Group (PSG) at Thermo Fisher Scientific. We are offering this role as fully remote (work from home) based on the USA East Coast.


Discover Impactful Work:


As Market Intelligence Senior Manager, you will drive pharma services innovation and growth by providing market and competitor intelligence to inform business strategy and collaborating with colleagues across our pharma services business. On a monthly basis, you will provide market growth updates, strategic competitive insights and trends, and significant market and segment insights to marketing and business leaders. Annually, you will deliver sizing and market growth estimates for the CDMO market by segment and support the strategic planning process through detailed situational analysis. Throughout the year, you will mine market, competitor, and customer data and provide analysis that enhance our ability to fulfill customers' needs better than any other player in the market.


A Day in the life


  • Build and maintain high-quality model to understand total market size of outsourced and insourced CDMO and clinical trial supply markets and assess our total addressable market and market penetration.
  • Build and maintain high-quality model to understand 5-year market growth trends, overall and by region and business segment, using third-party datasets and market research reports.
  • Support periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) market dynamics and insights to support key business processes.
  • Provide competitive analytics including analysis of earnings reports, portfolio analysis, and tracking of key competitors.
  • Track and distill insights from news that informs market and competitive intelligence gathering.
  • Coordinate with various marketing stakeholders, primarily product management and market development, to assess and analyze market opportunities aligned with company growth areas.
  • Identify and communicate emerging trends and how they may affect our business.
  • Identify and provide data using internal and external databases that supports strategy development. Analyze data and extract insights.
  • Leverage technology, such as Power BI, to automate insights gathering and sharing.
  • Manage third-party data vendors and vendor contracts.
  • Establish and maintain scalable processes that drive best practices and increase efficiency.
  • Ensure monitoring and maintenance of data quality and pursue solutions when you find gaps.


Keys to Success


Education


  • Bachelor's degree in economics, business, statistics, math, pharmacology, chemistry, or related field, with advanced degree desirable. Candidate's educational experience ideally shows combination of strategic thinking along with relevant scientific acumen.


Experience


  • Seven years or more relevant work experience, such as in market analysis, market insights, strategy consulting. Alternatively, 5 years or more full-time market and competitive intelligence experience + 2 years.
  • Robust experience with CDMO or biopharma industry, with understanding of trends across various modalities (small and large molecule, advanced therapies) and dosage forms.
  • Understanding of clinical trial supply and logistics space an advantage.
  • Prior experience using pharma databases and ability to independently conduct analysis using these databases (examples include IQVIA, Evaluate Pharma, Citeline).


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities


  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Excellent Excel modeling skills.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills, with ability to present data and information effectively to a specialized, executive audience.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to think strategically.
  • Adaptable and self-motivated with a growth mindset and successful track record of working both independently and as a member of a team. Willingness to learn, be mentored and improve.
  • Excellent English communication skills verbal and written (B2 and higher).
  • Preferred experience: Power BI dashboard creation, Python.
