What is the opportunity?



Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Senior Manager, Competitive Intelligence is responsible for the delivery, consolidation and communication of key trends, opportunities, threats, and implications related to Zafin’s market and competitive environment. This hands-on role will leverage market research, third-party data, analyst reports, and customer interviews to gain insights to more informed decisions on product features, positioning, messaging, and marketing strategy.



Location: The role will be based in Canada.



What will you do?


  • Define Zafin’s competitive intelligence program - conduct benchmarking to evaluate company’s position vs. competitors and recommend value proposition refinement.
  • Translate competitive data into the development of sales-enablement resources (eg. Competitive battlecards, Differentiation Analysis and brand equity metrics).
  • Compose insight-backed product positioning and messaging that serves as the cornerstone for marketing programs, web copy and sales enablement collateral.
  • Lead market research projects including writing and implementing surveys, facilitating focus groups, and performing trend analysis to enhance marketing decisions.
  • Conduct regular analysis of competitive landscape to identify strengths and opportunities to enhance product and market positioning.
  • Perform brand tracking, marketing performance evaluation, marketing effectiveness evaluation and cross channel attribution.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a customer logo and testimonial inventory in compliance with regulatory, industry and contractual guidelines.
  • Act as central aggregator of industry data, market movements and campaign performance to support annual planning, revenue forecasts and strategic projects.
  • Determine customer needs and pain points, pricing elasticity, and adoption rates across a holistic end to end view of the customer.
  • Develop presentations that skillfully display data to communicate the storytelling aligned to our target audience.



What do I need to succeed?


Must Have


  • 8+ years of experience in competitive intelligence of technology solutions within the finance industry with a proven ability to analyze data, synthesize information and identify opportunities is required.
  • Master’s Degree in Economics, Math, Computer Science or other Quantitative discipline.
  • Strong business acumen to analyze competitive strategies and propose effective countermeasures to different audiences in clear and effective ways.
  • Superior ability to structure and present data in a compelling and convincing fashion, strong writing, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking abilities needed, combined with the ability to see the big picture from scattered pieces of information.
  • Gifted at synthesizing large amounts of information and converting it into customer-facing messaging and collateral.
  • You have a high-energy, team-first attitude and you are motivated to work in an ever-changing environment to help our growing customer base.
  • You possess outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills in managing workload and internal customers.
