About the position


Indyme is seeking a technically oriented product marketing manager. In this role as product marketing manager, you will take products from a loosely defined concepts, to a complete set of product requirements which will define the product’s features, functions, price points and go to market strategy. You will be the product owner throughout the development process.


To define the product requirements, you’ll meet with key retailers, visit stores and observe workflows, identify opportunities for innovation, understand the application and the value add, and translate that knowledge into a set of requirements for engineering to execute.


You will also negotiate with engineering to optimize for features and cost. Our retail customers are rapidly embracing new technologies as they continuously improve the customer experience and protect their merchandise from theft. You will be at the forefront of these new emerging trends as the company’s principal product marketing manager.


We are looking for local candidates; no relocation provided. We are not offering sponsorship for this position.


What you’ll do:


  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and help craft Indyme’s product strategy and roadmap
  • Collect market intelligence on specific applications
  • Translate market and customer requirements into product definitions
  • Work collaboratively with engineering to work through tradeoffs needed to architect new products
  • Follow the product through product realization process to ensure features don’t drift from requirements


Skills you’ll need


  • BS or MS in engineering or marketing or related work experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in product marketing or product management
  • Ability to develop/conceptualize system requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding the product definition process
  • Excellent writing skills to prepare requirements documents
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment, working together with engineering to establish and meet product requirements
  • Ability to organize work priorities and interact effectively with other team members
