Principal Product Marketing Manager, Technical

Remote (Palo Alto, CA)

Life at Plume

At Plume, we believe that technology isn't about moving faster, it's about making life's moments better. Which is why we've built the world's first, and only, open and hardware-independent service delivery platform for smart homes, small businesses, enterprises, and beyond. Our SaaS platform uses WiFi, advanced AI, and machine learning to create the future of connected spaces—and human experiences—at massive scale.

We now deliver services to over 45 million locations globally and have managed over 2.2 billion devices on our platform. We're expanding rapidly, pioneering a new category, and we achieved our Series F funding in just four years. Our customers include many of the world's largest Communications Service Providers (CSPs) who look to Plume to help them evolve their smart home offerings while gleaning insights from their own data.

With a bias for action and a love for being trailblazers, the team at Plume embodies a combination of relentless curiosity and imaginative innovation. We challenge ourselves to think in ways that other companies don't, work to do what should be done (rather than what can), and if we can't do it exceptionally well, we don't do it. It's how we've assembled a team of world-class builders, thinkers, and doers. And it's how we're reinventing what's possible every day.

We are a late-stage startup technology company that leverages our core smart home, Mesh wifi, and network management software platform to provide wifi-based solutions to consumers, small businesses, and communication service providers. We are seeking a Principal Product Marketer with a technical focus to drive product marketing efforts at our company. This position will report directly to the CMO and will own the development and execution of world-class campaigns and brand marketing programs in both consumer and B2B contexts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute effective go-to-market strategies for existing and new products, with a deep focus on the core technologies driving advantage and differentiation.
  • Collaborate closely with product management and engineering teams to ensure product-market fit, identify customer needs and preferences, and develop effective go-to-market strategies for existing and new products.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive product launch plans and drive cross-functional collaboration with the product, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify trends and opportunities, and communicate findings to the leadership team.
  • Develop and own the product positioning, messaging, core content assets and core value proposition for our products.
  • Create and execute customer insights programs to understand our customers' needs and preferences, and use these insights to inform product marketing strategies.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop marketing collateral, sales tools, and customer-facing materials that align with product messaging and positioning.
  • Work closely with sales teams to develop and execute sales enablement programs, including product training and sales tools, to ensure they are aligned with product messaging and positioning.
  • Collaborate with the CMO to develop and execute brand strategy and brand development initiatives.
  • Identify success metrics for assets and activities and drive regular communication on progress with key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific domain
  • 7-10 years of Product Marketing experience within technology industries
  • Experience in software marketing in either enterprise or small business
  • Exceptional skills in creating differentiated product positioning and company messaging.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, particularly with Sales, Customer Success and creative teams.
  • Strong presentation skills to represent Plume in customer meetings, virtual events and webinars, conferences, and more.
  • Strong project, program, and time management skills with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Total Compensation package would include: anticipated compensation range of $200,000 to $235,000 bonus + equity + benefits. Benefits include: a 401k plan and a company match, basic life insurance plus unparalleled health, dental, vision and other benefits and perks. Please see here for more details.

An employee's base salary and its position within the range may depend on a number of factors including job related knowledge, education, skills, experience and other business related considerations. Published ranges are provided in good faith at the time of posting.

About Plume

As the creator of the only open, hardware-independent, cloud-controlled experience platform for CSPs and their subscribers, Plume partners with over 350 CSP customers, including some of the world's largest such as Comcast, Charter, Liberty Global, and J:COM.

Using OpenSync, the most widely supported open-source, silicon-to-cloud framework for smart spaces, Plume's software-defined network allows CSPs to decouple their service offerings from hardware and rapidly curate and deliver new services over a multi-vendor, open-platform architecture.

Backed by investors such as Insight Partners and SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Plume is now valued at $2.6B, having added over $500M in funding in 2021 alone.
