Principal Product Marketing Manager, Alliances

Remote (Herndon, VA)

You hit the nail on the head – for a living. And it's no accident. Over the years you've learned to look at your product through your clients' eyes. It's what allows you to anticipate customers' drivers and their deal-breakers. It's how you know what joint partner solutions are a 'must'. And that's gold to the sales team and your alliance partners.

If you're looking to market a product that customers actually love, and are passionate about selling products that champion pride and gratitude, we should talk! Not to brag, but we're a breath of fresh air in an enterprise information security market that's confusing and filled with vendors passionate about their widget instead of what customers actually want or need.

In this role, you'll work with whip-smart partner sales, product management and marketing teams to make sure we're meeting our customers' needs, and keeping the competition at bay. You'll be the focal point for identifying joint solutions, value propositions and marketing programs with partners that explain how our approach is different and why customers love working with Expel.

What Expel can do for you

  • Give you a platform to fuel your creative potential, taking chances as you seek new ways to tell our story and find new customers
  • Surround you with teams that know the act of crafting a long-term customer starts with building trust
  • Give you the opportunity to shine as you scale what we've already built, and open new directions for us to explore to build as many routes to market as we possibly can

What you can do for Expel

  • Identify, define and build joint solutions with our partners that solve problems and demonstrate value, while boosting pipeline growth
  • Develop outstanding messaging, selling tools and go-to-market plans with our key partners
  • Enable our partners to deliver our story ...movingly using the materials, presentations, datasheets, white papers, case studies and web copy you've built
  • Collaborate with marketing peers to implement plans and event marketing to support in-person and virtual events with alliance partners
  • Measure and report on program impact, alliance solution pipeline generation, and revenue contribution

What you should bring with you

  • Examples of compelling positioning, messaging and partner tools that you're proud of
  • A strong understanding of the IT channel and specific experience working with Solution Providers (e.g., Cloud Service Providers, MSPs, ISVs)
  • Appreciation for partners and a bias for messaging that "cuts through the marketing fluff" and leaves jargon on the cutting room floor
  • Successful track record of cross-functional, cross-company collaboration and cross-partner relationship building
  • Ability to articulate and drive strategy within an organization
  • Ideally, training/certification in Pragmatic™ Marketing
  • A Bachelor's degree or a compelling story
  • 7+ years of professional B2B marketing experience in technology, preferably with partner relationship management experience (i.e., alliance partners, channel marketing partners)
