Competitive Intelligence

Summary:

Anaconda is seeking a talented Staff Competitive Intelligence Manager to join our Product Marketing Team and support our product portfolio. This is a hands-on technical role within the leading connectivity cloud company recognized as a leader in data science and AI development workflows. You will be responsible for in-depth analysis of competitor solutions, encompassing both Python distribution and our AI development suite.

What You'll Do:

This role is composed of two main focuses in your scope of work: Competitive Intelligence and Analyst Relations.

Competitive Intelligence

  • Conduct deep-dive technical analysis of competitor offerings, track relevant announcements, identify impacts, and communicate with relevant stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain competitive intelligence collateral, including technical whitepapers, battlecards, presentations, and product comparisons
  • Provide actionable insights to product management, engineering, sales, and marketing teams, highlighting competitive advantages and disadvantages
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor announcements to identify emerging threats and opportunities
  • Collaborate with sales, product, and product marketing teams to develop competitive positioning and messaging.
  • Present competitive findings to internal stakeholders, ranging from technical teams to executive leadership
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of analyst-defined market categories to identify optimal positioning opportunities, assess category fit based on Anaconda's capabilities, and provide strategic recommendations on which analyst research reports and evaluations to prioritize for maximum market impact
  • Install, configure, and maintain a realistic product environment to help in achieving above goals for our product and all competitors

Analyst Relations

  • Educating analysts on AI and data science: Proactively – either directly or with cross-functional partners – explain how Anaconda is transforming customer experience, using real-world examples, technical depth, and a visionary lens. Position Anaconda as the leader in data science and AI development
  • Establishing the function: Develop and execute Anaconda’s analyst relations strategy, with a focus on accelerating innovation and securing open-source artifacts for enterprise buyers
  • Driving recognition: Lead Anaconda’s participation in key analyst evaluations (e.g. Gartner Magic Quadrants, Forrester Waves), ensuring our strengths and customer impact are clearly and compellingly represented
  • Building relationships: Cultivate deep, ongoing relationships with top-tier analysts, becoming their trusted source for AI expertise and market perspective
  • Collaborating cross-functionally: Partner with Executives and leadership across Product, Marketing, Sales, and Solutions to develop compelling submissions, demos, and narratives that highlight Anaconda’s differentiation
  • Delivering insights: Translate analyst feedback and competitive intelligence into actionable inputs for Anaconda’s product roadmap and GTM strategy
  • Measuring impact: Track and report on Anaconda’s analyst footprint, including report placements, mentions, analyst sentiment, and influence on pipeline
What You Need:
  • 7+ years of experience in a highly technical role, such as Competitive Intelligence (CI), Technical Marketing (TM), Sales Engineering, or a similar customer-facing/competitive engineering role as well as seasoned experience in AR or related roles (product marketing, communications, strategy), with a track record of success in analyst evaluations and category shaping
  • Possessing a robust technical grasp of developer platforms and SDLC concepts, including devops, AI development and Python development. Alternatively, demonstrating a proven aptitude for rapidly acquiring proficiency in these technologies
  • Proven ability to independently install, configure, and troubleshoot platform technology
  • Technical fluency: Deep curiosity of data science, AI, machine learning, and their application in customer experience. You will be responsible for educating analysts as much as you listen to them — so intellectual curiosity, technical comfort, and the ability to understand and explain data science and AI concepts with authority are essential
  • Enterprise expertise: Understanding of enterprise software business models, customer experience workflows, and market dynamics
  • Storytelling & communication: Exceptional ability to craft narratives that blend product capabilities, AI innovation, and customer outcomes. Able to explain technical concepts to senior, non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong relationships: Experience working with and influencing analysts at Gartner, Forrester, IDC, or equivalent firms
  • Strategic, autonomous leader: Skilled at proactively surfacing value to the business and independently managing complex programs, submissions, and cross-functional collaboration under tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise insights
  • You embody our values of Clarity, Care and Candor
  • You care deeply about fostering an environment where people of all backgrounds and experiences can flourish

What Will Make You Stand Out:

  • Direct experience working with cloud services and platform technology such as CICD systems, Python development environments, AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure in a technical capacity
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) for automation and data analysis
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience working in an open-source, AI, or data science-oriented company

Why You'll Like Working Here:

  • You'll thrive in a high-performance environment where results are recognized and rewarded
  • Your work directly contributes to shaping the future of data science, machine learning, and AI in the enterprise.
  • You'll work alongside a collaborative team that values diverse, thoughtful discussion, clarity and candor.
  • You'll be supported by a culture that puts employees first - with flexible hours, a fully remote setup, and a genuine commitment to your wellbeing and growth.
