The Product Marketing team at Posit contributes to Posit’s short and long-term success by understanding our markets and defining approaches that guide company and product strategy, drive differentiated company, product and solution positioning, and support innovative marketing and sales programs for prospects, customers, developers, analysts, and influencers. The Product Marketing Manager - Market & Competitive Intelligence plays a vital role in leading our go-to-market efforts for our data science products, with a focus on competitive and market intelligence. This person will be responsible for competitive intelligence, win/loss analysis, market insights, and business value analysis. This person will have a pulse on the market, including industry-specific (e.g. Financial Services, Healthcare) and competitive landscapes, working across marketing, sales, customer success, and product management to collect inputs and disseminate insights. The Product Marketing Manager will lead the charge in developing business value analysis tools and insights that when combined with competitive and market insights, puts the company in a better position to win.

This role reports to the VP of Product Marketing and seeks to understand the goals of the business and form project teams of domain experts to execute solution development, go-to-market (GTM) efforts and drive towards the desired goals. This role requires a person who can develop a plan and work cross-functionally to have it executed in a timely fashion. The ideal candidate will have experience in market intelligence, particularly competitive intelligence, an understanding of the developer and data science market, be an outstanding communicator, and know how to collaborate closely with sales and customer success to close deals.

What You’ll Own

  • Competitive Intelligence: Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats. Develop a comprehensive analysis approach and understanding of competitor products, pricing, marketing strategies, and sales tactics. Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on market developments and recommend strategic responses.
  • Market Insights: Keep a pulse on major trends in the market that impacts our customers and buyers, using the information to feed product strategy, marketing, analyst and sales efforts.
  • Win/Loss Interview And Analysis: Conduct win/loss interviews and quarterly win/loss analysis to gather insights on our competitive positioning, product strengths and weaknesses, and market opportunities for improvement.
  • Business Value Analysis: Understand the business value that Posit products and solutions provide to customers and develop strategies and tools that help sales and customer success prove and articulate ROI, including ROI calculators, business cases, and support in proposals.
  • Content Development: Craft compelling messaging and positioning documents that clearly differentiate our products from our competitors in the market. Develop a range of marketing materials, including battle cards, competitive decks, and training sessions that enable sales, customer success, and partners.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, Sales, and Marketing teams to communicate competitive insights and develop strategies that effectively counter competitive threats and capitalize on industry trends. Provide training and support to Sales and Customer Success teams, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to compete in the marketplace effectively.

What You'll Assist With

  • Product Management: Work closely with the Product Management team to understand how competitors stack up against Posit by product and solution; ensure technical and feature-oriented comparisons tie into business value positioning by our Revenue team
  • Sales Enablement: Collaborate with Sales Enablement to ensure Sales, Customer Success, and other go-to-market teams can confidently position Posit in the competitive landscape.
  • Analyst Relations: Work closely with the Analyst Relations team to ensure industry and team-based points of view are well understood and articulated to the analyst community.
  • Developer Relations: Collaborate with the Developer Relations team to support solution (industry, team) based use cases, projects, and outreach

You Have

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise software GTM; Product Marketing, Solution Marketing, Competitive Intelligence, Business Value Analysis, Product Management, or top-tier Management Consulting experience preferred.
  • Strong technical foundation or ability to pick up and understand product/tech concepts (e.g., engineering degree and/or product experience).
  • Distinctive problem-solving, strategic, and analytical capabilities (Excel / Google Sheets required, Business Intelligence tool nice-to-have).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Thrive in cross-functional environments and can effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and teams.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and proactive—you take on complex projects, drive them forward with unwavering ownership, and ensure no detail is overlooked or tasks are left unfinished.

Within 1 month, you’ll…

  • Familiarize yourself with Posit business, product and solution offerings, competitive landscape, and meet key stakeholders and business partners
  • Understand the buyer’s journey for the assigned industries or in tight collaboration with the Sales and Customer Success teams.
  • Review current competitive, win/loss, and business value content, identifying gaps
  • Put a plan together that establishes a repeatable process for driving competitive intelligence

Within 3 months, you’ll…

  • Drive competitive intelligence program, including gathering insights, synthesizing insights into easy-to-understand and powerful sales talking points, and creating battle cards and other materials for sales and customer success
  • Collaborate with the rest of the Product and Solutions Marketing team, Growth Marketing on campaign planning
  • Collaborate with Product Management on competitive insights into product planning.
  • Develop a win/loss approach that can be operationalized and sclaed
  • Organize market trend topics that matter to Posit customers and orchestrate points of view on each for successful delivery in marketing and analyst efforts

Within 6 months, you’ll…

  • Create a business value approach and assets - e.g. ROI calculator - that works for sales to demonstrate ROI of Posit to prospects and existing customers
  • Execute a win/loss program that informs Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to improve product development and win rates
  • Speak authoritatively on the competitive landscape and market trends and support sales on prospect and customer calls to drive home Posit differentiation
  • Present at the QBR to the Executive team and become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the competition and market insights
  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Product Management to understand the return on investment of Posit’s products and solutions
  • Create a smooth enablement process for Sales on competitive, win/loss in collaboration with Sales Enablement

Within 12 months, you’ll…

  • Develop ROI tools to assist sales in closing deals
  • Establish clear metrics for measuring results of efforts; build ways to measure impact
  • Innovate on new ways to gather industry insights and roll them out to the field
  • Enable Partners on competitive and market insights and assist in driving joint marketing motions with clear goals.
  • Plan 2026 goals using data and insight from 2025 execution and results.

This hiring range reflects base salary and assumes that the job will be performed in the United States.
