About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized, relationship-driven, and influential Global Consumer & Competitive Intelligence Manager to lead cross-functional insight initiatives that guide product innovation and strategic decision making to win with flavor. In this role, reporting to the Sr. Global Deployment Director, you will manage complex projects across global teams, cultivate relationships internally and within the agricultural and berry industry ecosystem, and translate insights into clear, compelling recommendations for our Research & Development team.

This position serves as a connective hub across Research & Development, Global Deployment, regional business units, and external agricultural networks. The ideal candidate has a passion for food & blends strong project leadership, deep industry awareness, and exceptional communication presence to elevate Driscoll’s competitive advantage.

This position can be located at one of these locations: Watsonville, CA OR Maidstone, UK.

 

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end management of global insight and competitive intelligence projects, ensuring clear timelines, alignment, and delivery of high‑quality outputs.

• Build structured project plans across R&D, Marketing, Product Leadership, and regional deployment teams.

• Implement repeatable systems to increase the consistency, efficiency, and visibility of insights work globally.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with growers, breeders, agricultural researchers, and other key industry partners.

• Build an intelligence network to monitor competitor breeding programs, new patented varieties, grower adoption, market trends, and emerging agricultural technologies.

• Collaborate with global business units and deployment managers to identify threats and opportunities across regions.

• Deliver competitive landscape briefings that translate agricultural and scientific signals into strategic implications for the business.

• Synthesize data into concise, compelling narratives tailored to VP and Executive audiences.

• Prepare strategic briefings and leadership updates that drive enterprise‑level decisions.

• Influence cross‑functional leaders by presenting insight‑driven recommendations with clarity, confidence, and authority.

   

Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred. 

• 5+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or competitive intelligence, or related strategy roles.

• Project Management Expertise: Proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder projects across global or matrixed organizations.

Agricultural, Food, or CPG Industry Experience: Direct experience in agriculture or strong familiarity with crop, grower, or seed/breeding dynamics preferred.

Executive Communication: Demonstrated ability to craft executive-ready messaging, present to senior leaders, and influence strategic direction.​

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable recommendations.

• Experience managing third-party research providers and cross-functional teams.

• Travel availability (20-30% national and international).

Preferred Qualifications

  3+ years managing people preferred.

Established relationships or experience working with growers, breeding programs, or agricultural associations.

Experience navigating technical or scientific content and simplifying it for non-technical stakeholders.

Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.

Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.

Compensation and Benefits (United States)

The following information is provided in good faith as a general description of the salary range and benefits for the position posted.  The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors. 

Salary Range estimated for the Global Consumer & Competitive Intelligence Manager: $107,700.00/year to $140,010.00/year in the United States. Salary range in other countries varies and is commensurate with cost of living and industry standards for that geographic location.
