Director of Product Marketing, Innovation

The Director of Product Marketing - Innovation will be responsible for establishing Mailchimp’s cross-functional innovation capability to identify future product opportunities and drive the long-term success of Mailchimp + Quickbooks growth platform in the global market. You will lead a small team and take ownership of long-term strategies to introduce new revenue opportunities into the Mailchimp and Mailchimp + Quickbooks portfolios, spanning market & opportunity sizing, business cases, establishing product-market fit and GTM strategy.


Activities will include: Market sizing and opportunity analysis, conducting market and customer research, developing business cases for new solutions, creating product/solution positioning and messaging, creating customer-relevant solutions bundles, developing merchandising strategies, pricing and promotions, developing and executing internal and external launch plans, and creating demand generation plans to acquire, grow and keep customers. The successful candidate will work closely with all other marketing functions, corporate development, business operations, finance and product management to identify new revenue opportunities based on emerging and unmet customer needs, and define go-to-market strategies that will accelerate growth globally.


What You'll Do Here

  • Contribute to the 1-3 year marketing strategy and plan for Mailchimp’s product offerings and the Mailchimp + Quickbooks Integration offerings, including strategic choices on where to play and how to win
  • Work with the product management team to uncover new markets and use cases, define new offers and influence roadmap decisions; Validate hypotheses through customer insights, data analysis, and testing
  • Develop a deep understanding of market opportunities, customer segments, competitors, and offerings, leveraging qualitative, quantitative research and rapid experimentation, to develop the business case, targeting strategy, and value proposition for new products, services, and business models
  • Drive current and future market and positioning opportunities, including new features, offerings, line up revisions, and business models.
  • Create and oversee the execution of go-to-market strategies
  • Partner with a cross-functional team to support all of the above including webinars, in-app messaging, events, guides, product videos, customer success stories, PR, blog posts, and more
  • Lead and manage a small team of product marketers in support of these responsibilities


We'd Love To Hear From You If

  • You have 10+ yrs experience in B2SMB or B2C product marketing in the Martech, SaaS, cloud or mobile technology industries
  • You’re a creative thinker with a passion for solving Small Business problems and experience crafting, launching, and marketing new small business products or services.
  • You have a proven ability to create go-to-market strategies and compelling messaging for multiple customer segments
  • You have the ability to craft compelling stories, collateral, and tools around technology products and services for both business and technical buyers
  • You are technically savvy and intellectually curious about new technologies and how they work/enable new customer solutions
  • You're an avid learner who has experience learning new markets and industries and devising solutions and marketing strategies to reach those markets
  • You have strong teaming skills and experience to bring together diverse views and communicate/collaborate effectively
  • You have strong creative, problem solving and strategic thinking abilities
  • You've demonstrated an ability to organize and prioritize work to drive results on-time and with high quality
  • You have exceptional critical thinking, analytical and quantitative skills
  • You have proven experience leading and managing teams
