Summary / Objective

As a Competitive Strategist at isolved, you'll own the competitive monitoring, battlecard creation, project-specific analysis, and deep technical comparisons of emerging and incumbent products in the HCM space. You'll be ready to engage sales, prospects & customers with our go to market differentiation.

Core responsibilities include researching, analyzing, and synthesizing industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics into sales digestible content and deliverables for leadership. You'll uniquely contribute to the growth, revenue support and actionability of your research and scale of competitive content at isolved.


Core Job Duties

  • Own insight generation, key market/competitive intelligence deliverables that will be leveraged by marketing, sales, product management, finance and other corporate functions.
  • Monitor competitor activities, including product launches, partnerships, and engagement strategies using primary and secondary research, and publicly available data sources including investor portals, analyst briefings, social media, trade shows, syndicated data etc.
  • Analyze competitor strengths and weaknesses to develop actionable insights for our prospects, customers and partners.
  • Collect unique and hard to find intel from various sources, including market reports, industry publications, field sales & partner perspective, and primary research - separating the insight from the noise.
  • Prioritize and oversee primary competitive research with vendor support.
  • Identify opportunities for product and service enhancements and collaborate with senior leadership to land and implement recommendations.
  • Engage key stakeholders - sales, product, senior leadership and marketing - with our competitive differentiation, core content & GTM messaging.

Skill Requirements:

  • Sales Engagement skills: Comfortable assisting the Sales process, including engaging directly with buyers, customers, and partners to articulate our differentiation and weaponize intelligence to enable our sales teams.
  • Content creation and presentation skills: Excellent ability to translate competitive insights into actionable content at both business and technical levels, with experience in creating presentations and reports to share with internal and external stakeholders across seniority levels.
  • Research & analytical skills: Strong market research, quantitative, and analytical skills, with demonstrated capabilities in interpreting data and qualitative info and distilling into actionable key takeaways.
  • Competitive Intel & Content Creation Experience: Proven experience in competitive intelligence, market analysis, technical product teardowns or related roles - experience in SaaS preferred.
  • Excellent Written & Verbal Communication Skills: High standard of written, verbal & presentation skills are a must along with the ability to convey complex information clearly - with storytelling & data.
  • A strategic + tactical thinker with a demonstrated ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, economics, marketing, or a related field.


Experience: 3-7 years proven experience in SaaS software with experience in driving deep research projects and content creation from data-driven insights.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity and experience with the HCM software industry.
  • Experience working with the KLUE Competitive Platform.
