Competitive Intelligence Analyst

Jacksonville, FL

What Will Be Your Purpose


As a Competitive Intelligence Analyst you will contribute to the development, project management, and communication of competitive research, as well as business insights associated with GuideWell's scope of operations. You will include conducting of the research and data aggregation necessary to serve as a strategic partner across our organization, resulting in an integrated evidence-backed marketplace assessment. These assessments are focused on generating insights, conclusions, and implications to GuideWell's strategic business plan objectives, measured by independent quantitative and qualitative assessments of competitor activities.


What You Will Be Doing


  • Define and conduct insights to guide leadership decision-making processes, including the development of consultant like quality presentation materials and the curation of business segment focused data sets, while partnering with department leadership to communicate analysis and understanding of data, including healthcare business concepts gained through research to help guide decision-making
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on competitors and product segments to proactively identify and assess new business opportunities and threats to GuideWell’s strategic imperatives (both Enterprise and Business Unit focused), while applying a basic understanding of business processes to appropriately design research projects and market related analyses
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Strategy & Market Insights team members to close competitive intelligence gaps, including assisting in the analysis of competitor financial results, product filings, technology investments, corporate development, and regulatory initiatives, including their impact to GuideWell’s strategic imperatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned


What You Must Have


5+ years related work experience


Related Bachelor's Degree Or Additional Related Equivalent Work Experience


What we Prefer


Expertise in financial modeling with working knowledge of insurance regulatory filings


Solid knowledge and experience associated with one or more of the health care industry subsectors including: Commercial Markets, Medicare, Medicaid, Ancillary Products (Vision, Dental, Stop-Loss), TPA Product Strategies, or Clinical Asset Operations


In-depth understanding of market specific dynamics in one of GuideWell’s existing operating geographies


General Physical Demands


Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
